The Royal Family is looking to rope in new lot of royal members to fill while senior working members deal with major crisis in the family.
As King Charles undergoes treatment for his cancer and Kate Middleton is recovering from her abdominal surgery, Prince William and Queen Camilla are also looking after their spouses while taking on fewer royal engagments.
To curb the current crisis, the royals are now looking at Princess Beatrice and Lady Louise, who are nor royal working members, to help with the royal diary.
According to royal commentator Gareth Russell someone like Princess Beatrice or Lady Louise Windsor could prove great for the monarchy as they “both have recognisability.”
He explained to GB News that they “also will be able to pick up a lot of the work that will not be picked up by others because there aren’t enough working royals coming through the next generation.”
In the beginning of his reign, Charles had been adamant on implementing a slimmed-down monarchy to lessen the burden on the Crown. Hence many non-working members of the family had their privileges taken away.
Gareth noted that the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester are also people who “carry out impressive work” but there will come a time when they want to “take less burden.”
“At that point, really the monarchy as it stands is going to require many more working hands,” he surmised.
Given the current scenario in the royal family, there is a chance that the Palace may require more working hands urgently.
