'So impressed by you': Bill Gates congratulates daughter Jennifer on becoming doctor
Jennifer Gates receives placement in Paediatrics Research Pathway at Mount Sinai hospital, New York
American billionaire and Microsoft founder Bill gates has congratulated his eldest daughter, Jennifer Gates, on becoming a doctor.
In his message for Jennifer, whom he had with ex-wife Melinda Gates, the tech tycoon shared his daughter's Instagram post and wrote: "Congratulations, I’m so impressed by you, and the doctor you’re becoming."
Jennifer, People reported, received her placement in the Paediatrics Research Pathway at Mount Sinai hospital, New York.
In the post that she shared with her 548K followers, she shared a picture of her in a black dress, holding up the card of the hospital that she’ll be working for.
In the caption she wrote, "Pediatrician incoming. Thrilled to finally share that after 4 years of medical school, I’ve matched for residency at Mt. Sinai on the Pediatrics Research pathway. What a dream come true - I can’t wait to learn from incredible healthcare providers and patients about all that it means to become a doctor. Residency here we come!"
Commenting underneath her post, her mother Melinda wrote, "I am so proud of you! Congratulations on this next chapter."
Jennifer, married Nayel Nassar in October 2021, and welcomed a baby girl last year.
The billionaire's daughter completed her schooling from the Lakeside School in Seattle. She later enrolled in Stanford University from where she did her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Biology.
Gates then did her Master of Public Health (MPH) from Columbia University, graduating in May last year. She also has a Doctor of Medicine degree, from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Jennifer has two younger siblings, brother Rory and sister Phoebe.
