Elianne Andam, a 15-year-old private schoolgirl, was stabbed to death at a bus stop in south London by a 17-year-old boy who has admitted to her murder.
On September 27, Elianne was stabbed while travelling to the John Whitgift School's Old Palace, according to Daily Mail.
When the 17-year-old boy appeared through videolink at the Old Bailey this morning, he admitted manslaughter but pleaded not guilty to murder due to his age.
Prosecutors rejected the plea, and on November 25 at the same court, a trial is set to begin.
In addition, the teen boy denied having a knife in a public area.
Prior to being attacked, Elianne had made two female acquaintances.
It is reported that Elianne was repeatedly stabbed by the 17-year-old boy, who took off a big knife from his waistline while wearing a mask and gloves.
Others tried to save her while he was fleeing the scene, but she was not going to survive.
That same day, at 9:45am, the defendant was taken into custody in New Addington.
Prosecutor Alison Morgan KC previously said: “It was, the prosecution allege, a brutal attack.”
It was discovered during a particular post-mortem examination that she had many stab wounds.
After stepping off a double-decker bus on Wellsley Road and attempting to defend a classmate, the Year 11 student was slain.
Elianne was declared dead at the scene after paramedics and police arrived just after 8:30am, but they were unable to save her.
At a prior hearing, Morgan, KC, stated that Elianne's friend had recently broken up with the perpetrator, and they had planned to meet that morning.
She said: “The purpose of the meeting was to facilitate the defendant and (his ex-girlfriend) exchanging possessions.”
“The defendant arrived with black gloves and a face mask. In coming to the meeting he had armed himself with a large knife which he was carrying with him,” she added.
