Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming back for two seasons on Netflix, even after garnering mixed reviews by fans.
The streaming platform has renewed the live-action adaptation of the greatly-popular Nickelodeon show, as per a report by The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday.
The show's first season has eight episodes, but there hasn't been any revelation about the episode count of the upcoming two seasons.
Although having both negative and positive feedback, the show which tells Aang’s story has been Netflix's top English show with 41.1million views, since its debut on February 22, Netflix claims.
The outlet also points out that while Netflix has renewed two seasons at once for shows like Emily In Paris and Stranger Things in the past, this may mark the first occasion of a double renewal to end a show, as the streamer announced the upcoming two seasons to be the last ones.
After getting mixed views, the news has shocked fans.
Despite early positive critic reactions from a pre-release press screening, the show quickly moved into the 'rotten' category on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a score of 59% with 46 reviews.
Even though it maintains the same review score with 71 reviews right now, the audience reception is generally favourable, with a 75% approval from over 2,500 ratings.
