Ed Sheeran celebrated the 7th anniversary of his album, Divide, with keeping Rihanna in mind, but this is not the first time the Perfect singer did something while thinking of the Diamonds singer.

Seven years ago, Ed Sheeran released his third studio album, ÷, which topped the best-selling album worldwide in 2017.

To celebrate the success at the 7th anniversary of the album, the singer - who is currently on his much-anticipated +–=÷× Tour, also called Mathematics - took to Instagram and shared a carousel of vintage pictures, recalling "the most successful era of my career."

The first picture in the post was one with Sheeran and Rihanna at the 59th GRAMMY Awards, about which Sheeran says that it was shot while he was discussing how Shape Of You was written "originally with [Rihanna] in mind."

Sheeran has shared about writing the song for the Umbrella singer in the past as well.

"We were writing this song and I was like, 'This would really work for Rihanna,'" he told host Nick Grimshaw at the time.

"And then I started singing lyrics like 'putting Van the Man on the jukebox' and I was like, 'Well, she's not really going to sing that, is she?' And then we sort of decided halfway through that we were just going to make it for me."

Fans had a sweet reaction to the Bad Habits’ singer tribute to Rihanna.

"I love this, thanks for sharing. P.S.: i love Rihanna but thank goodness you kept shape of you!!," one user commented on Sheeran's post with another writing, "'Shape of You' was on fire, glad that you opt to sing that song but a Rihanna version is also a slay."
