Geri Halliwell had to fly urgently to Bahrain to join husband Christian Horner following his leaked text messages with a female colleague.
While the former Spice Girl, who married the F1 pro in 2015, did not want to speak to her spouse but was urged by her family to have crisis talk, a source told The Mirror.
Halliwell, who was said be to “distraught and humiliated,” has been “locked in crisis talks with her team this week about how to manage all of this,” the source told the outlet.
“Christian had played down the whole affair to her, but she can’t bear the fact it is now all out in the open. She feels like a fool. It has really taken its toll on her and she told pals this week she would not be in Bahrain.”
The insider stated that the singer was “adamant she wouldn’t be there,” and “pretend” that everything was alright. However, Horner’s mother has been “leaning heavily” on Halliwell “to stand by his side, and publicly back him.”
Meanwhile, the singer’s team was “urging her to keep her distance and seek advice.”
However, the pleas seemed to have worked since she is now headed to see Horner.
The team is “worried about the impact on both her personally and her brand and want her to pause and consider her next move carefully. She feels incredibly torn between the two camps. It’s a horrific situation for her to be in, and it is growing worse by the minute,” the source said.
