Fans of both Linda Hamilton and Stranger Things were thrilled when the actress's casting in the show's final season was announced.
However, in a recent interview with US Weekly, Hamilton revealed a surprising consequence of joining the cast: she won't be able to watch Season 5.
Hamilton, a self-proclaimed "massive fan" of the show, explained that being part of the production has altered her viewing experience. "I've watched every season with relish. I just love it," she shared. "So it's kind of, like, imposter syndrome where I don't [feel that I] fit in there."
She elaborated on her decision not to watch, citing a personal preference not to watch projects she's involved in. "When you really buy into something, you don't see yourself in it," she said. "So I think in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project] once I'm in something. It just takes me out of the reality of it."
Despite this, Hamilton expressed her excitement about being part of the show. "I do get to be there for table reads and watch it unfold and be part of it," she said. "I'm thrilled to be part of it."
While fans may miss seeing Hamilton alongside the established cast, her dedication to her craft and her honest reflection on the experience offers a unique perspective on the world of acting and fandom. The mystery surrounding her role only adds to the anticipation for the highly-awaited final season of Stranger Things.
