Jennifer Lopez recently released This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, a film based on the challenges she faced in her publicly scrutinised love life.
However, the musician's husband, Ben Affleck, appeared in mysterious ways in the newly released project.
Speaking of this decision, Lopez's film director, Dave Meyers, told People, "That was purposeful because everything Jen was telling me was about her own personal maturity and what she’s gone through and learned about herself. That’s the thing that people will mostly relate to."
The Gone Girl star was shown in disguise for brief moments to highlight the fact that the Air star continued to be a part of her life even after their breakup.
The director added, "One of the early thoughts that I was playing with [with] Jen was that we had Ben playing lots of characters, but always in disguise, so it was like he was always ever-present."
Earlier, Lopez got emotional as she thanked her 'supportive' Affleck, at the premiere of This Is Me...Now: A Love Story on Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The Ain't Your Mama singer said, "And then there is the person who inspired this for me, who has inspired me my whole life."
She added, "I love you and thank you for believing in me and helping me believe in myself. And helping me to grow every single day."
