Tom Cruise, who once broke royal protocol to receive Princess Kate at star-studded event, has reportedly inquired after the future Queen's health in his surprise meeting with Prince William at a charity gala in London earlier this month.
The Hollywood icon interacted with the Prince of Wales at fundraising gala at London's Air Ambulance Charity on February 8. It was William's first public appearance since his wife Princess Kate had "planned abdominal surgery" on January 16.
During the meeting, the actor asked about King Charles and Kate's health and sent the royals best wishes, an insider claimed.
Soon after the meeting, the official accounts of The Prince and Princess of Wales shared the picture in which William and Tom Cruise are dressed in their tuxedos and black bow ties.
At the event, William expressed his gratitude for "the kind messages of support for Catherine and for my father, especially in recent days," adding: "It means a great deal to us all."
"It's fair to say the past few weeks have had a rather 'medical' focus. So I thought I'd come to an air ambulance function to get away from it all!" said the prince.
William also joked about Tom at the event, saying: "If you wouldn't mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible, it would be appreciated. We have all seen on our screens that, how can I put it, you seem to have a different take on normal wear and tear to the rest of us."
At the 2022 Top Gun: Maverick premiere, Tom Cruise broke the royal protocol as he in an act of generosity took the Princess Kate by hand as she ascended some stairs.
