Taylor Swift got candid to her 96,000 fans attending her first Melbourne concert of Eras Tour on Friday about her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department.
The 14-time Grammy-winning singer was sat at the piano before she introduced her first surprise song for the night, You’re Losing Me, a vault track from 2022’s Midnights.
The Tortured Poets Department is Swift’s 11th studio album, which drops on April 19.

She told the crowd that there will be a special bonus version of the LP.
“I wanted to show you something tonight because we’ve got an alternate cover to The Tortured Poets Department that nobody has seen and there’s an exclusive song on this vinyl called The Bolter,” Swift said, leading up to her surprise song performance.
“This is called ‘The Bolter Edition.’ Look at that cover, it’s so tortured [and] so poetic. I wanted to show that to you here in Melbourne because you’ve just been the best that you could possibly be.”
She then said of the album, “I needed to make it. It was really a lifeline for me.”
Swift continued, “It sort of reminded me of why songwriting is something that actually gets me through life and I’ve never had an album where I’ve needed songwriting more than I needed it on Tortured Poets.”
