Jennifer Ramsaran, a married mother-of-three, mysteriously disappeared on December 11, 2012, but months later, in February 2013, her body was found off a remote road in the town of Pharsalia, Syracuse reported.

Her story, along with her husband Ganesh "Remy" Ramsaran's interview, was featured on the NBC show "Dateline," hosted by Andrea Canning.

Jennifer's husband, a Chenango County native and former IBM engineer, had alleged that she was having an affair.

However, the police have refuted these claims, discovering that the victim used to play online fantasy games with a man named Rob for the majority of her spare time.

Remy Ramsaran was the target of all suspicions shortly after, so the police started looking into him and discovered that he was having an affair with Eileen Sayles, a close friend of Jennifer's.

In his first trial, the jury found that Ramsaran murdered his wife, Jennifer, in December 2012 and later reported her missing. He told the police she left to do Christmas shopping at the Destiny mall. The court, however, tossed out that conviction.

Two months later, 36-year-old Jennifer Ramsaran was discovered frozen and nude off a remote road close to her New Berlin home.

Gilberto Garcia was his defence attorney when the September 2014 murder trial began.

According to the ruling, the family paid Garcia more than $120,000 in the months that followed and thought the attorney would investigate putting together a strong defence.

However, according to the judge's remarks, Garcia was so inexperienced and ill-prepared that he lifted forensics questions straight from an Australian website called "DNA for Defence Lawyers" and turned to Google for assistance.

'Dateline' has featured Ramsaran’s case before, in 2014, when his murder trial attracted attention from national media.
