A man, who goes by the handle John on social media, has gained popularity in recent days for consuming raw chicken every day since January 19 till he had a "tummy ache."
His goal is rather straightforward: he records himself eating portions of raw chicken, which he then mixes with different sides and seasonings, and posts a daily video to his Raw Chicken Experiment Instagram page.
His experiment concerns doctors who are worried about people following this trend from his video.
And, as John told People, he has yet to get sick during his "science experiment."
"Whenever someone tells me not to do something, it always makes me a little interested more," he says. "This time was with chicken."
Everything about the poultry performance began last month when John thought he would "try it and see how long I could go."
John regularly uses different ingredients in his chicken like pureed oranges, pasta sauce, and ranch dressing in an effort to replicate well-known chicken recipes without the need for an oven or burner.
"I am getting organic local farm stuff which may give me a better shot," he says. "I decided to make the [Instagram] page and do it in a sort of funny way, because that’s the type of content I would want to see myself. I had to step up to the plate."
However, John continues to include meals that are cooked in his diet. John previously posted a video of a similar "raw meat experiment" on YouTube, to which his "chicken gang" fan base has since cheered him on.
