Abhishek Bachchan recently spilled beans on his early life, revealing that the actor was forced to quit college and serve tea on film sets.
Abhishek, 48, recalled a time when his father, Amitabh Bachchan faced a loss in business, leading to a financial crisis that spiraled for some time.
The Guru actor admitted that in order to assist his father, he worked as a tea distributor on sets, making tea for actors and the production crew.
The actor, who later married the Miss World ‘94 Aishwariya Rai Bachchan, shared his experience, noting: "We were going through a lot of financial crisis at that time because Dad had started a company, in which he had to suffer a lot of loss. At that time I felt that I should support my father more than studies."
He also mentioned working as a production assistant and assistant director later.
The Dhoom actor made his debut in Bollywood as the male lead in J.P. Dutta’s Refugee, in which he starred opposite Kareena Kapoor.
Although the film didn’t perform well at the box office, garnering average responses and reviews, Abhishek was praised by critics.
To the actor’s surprise, the following eight films in which the actor starred tanked at the box office.
His first solo 2005 hit, Bunty Aur Babli garnered appreciation worldwide. The actor starred opposite Rani Mukerjee in the latter.
As of now, Bachchan’s career stands tall with 29 flops, and numaerable hits, including Shahrukh Khan’s Happy New Year, Dhoom 2, Dhoom 3, Housefull 3, among others.
The actor has a whopping net worth of around Rs. 280 crores.
