Internet reacted to former United States president Donald Trump asking followers if they think he looks like American singer Elvis Presley.
Trump on Saturday shared a picture of half of his face next to half of the "King of Rock and Roll", Elvis Presley's face, in a Truth Social post asking followers if they look alike.
Trump posted the picture with the caption, "For so many years, people have been saying that Elvis and I look alike. Now this picture has been going all over the place. What do you think?"
Few people agreed with Trump's assertion that he looks like Elvis Presley, and many quickly made fun of him by editing photos of him that included Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Putin, and Willy Wonka's Oompa Loompa from the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the New York Post reported.
Writing that Trump "clearly has dementia", Democratic strategist Johnny Palmadessa listed several mistakes Trump had made throughout the campaign trail, such as confusing presidential candidate Nikki Haley with former House speaker Nancy Pelosi and acting as though former president Barack Obama was still in office.
"He says he's 'winning' his New York fraud trial, but the trial is over. He lost. He just compared himself to Elvis because he believes they 'look alike'. Donald Trump needs to drop out of the race. He needs to seek help," he wrote in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Similarly, former MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann wrote, "Dementia J Trump is now attempting to persuade his cult that he is in some way akin to Elvis Presley. Do you mean they've both been brain-dead since 1977? Indeed!"
The odd social media message by the 77-year-old former president came following comments made by Joe Biden on Saturday about his opponent’s erratic behaviour.
During a speech in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden remarked, "I am feeling good about where we are, and no, I mean it, this is the weirdest campaign I've ever worked on, and his behaviour has gotten worse since we last did this in 2020."
