Manchester City's maestro, Kevin De Bruyne, made a magical return to the field, inspiring his side to a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory against Newcastle United.

The Belgian midfielder, absent since August due to a hamstring injury, entered the game in the 69th minute, turning the tides for City, who were trailing 2-1.

City had initially taken the lead with a sublime back-heeled finish by Bernardo Silva, but Newcastle responded swiftly. Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordon netted impressive goals, leaving City on the back foot. Despite missed opportunities in the second half, the introduction of De Bruyne proved to be the game-changer.

De Bruyne showcased his trademark silky skills, equalizing with a clinical finish just five minutes after coming off the bench. As the game headed into stoppage time, he played a pivotal role in the decisive moment, providing the perfect assist for substitute Oscar Bobb, who secured the three points with his first Premier League goal.

City's players erupted in celebration at the final whistle, propelling them to second place, just two points behind league leaders Liverpool. The win marked City's intent to challenge for a fourth successive title, showcasing the undeniable influence of the 32-year-old De Bruyne.

Pep Guardiola, City's manager, acknowledged the significance of De Bruyne's return, stating, "I said thank you to him after. He's the only one in the world who could do that. To play with him is great. Not only one of the greatest players in the Premier League, he's a very nice guy."

For Newcastle, the defeat marked their fourth successive setback, leaving them in the 10th spot. City's high defensive line was exposed during the match, but the sheer brilliance of De Bruyne turned the tables in their favor.

As City looks forward with renewed vigor, De Bruyne's return undoubtedly injects fresh energy into their campaign, setting the stage for an exciting and competitive run in the Premier League.
