Amitabh Bachchan breaks down as he bids emotional adieu to KBC after 23 years

Amitabh Bachchan broke down while bidding an emotional farewell to Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) after a whole of 23 years. 

Season 15 of the game show aired its last episode on Friday, December, 29.

The Shahenshah actor closed the show with a set of emotional words as tears rolled down the veteran actor’s cheek.

In the video surfacing the internet, Bachchan could be seen sporting a maroon tuxedo, fringed with blackish-grey velvet, as he bid farewell to the show.

The actor said, “Ladies and gentleman, now it's time to go as the stage won't be the same. It's difficult to let everyone know that we won't be returning here from tomorrow (Devi aur sajjano, ab hum jaa rahe aur kal se yeh manch ab nahi sajega. Apno se yeh keh pana ki kal se hum yahan nahi aa payenge, na kehne ki himmat hoti aur na kehne ka mann hota hai)."

The 72-year-old continued, “For the last time I am bidding you all goodbye from this show, goodnight (Main Amitabh Bachchan iss daur ke liye, iss manch se akhri baar kehne jaa raha hu, shubraatri)."

The video went viral as Amitabh began trending on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Fans showered emotions and expressed immense love for the show.

A fan commented: “Amit Sir is (an) example of sheer dedication and passion at such an age.”

Another wrote: “I will miss KBC… and Amitabh Bachchan sir… will be waiting for next season.”

A third gushed: “It’s the end of an era! Thank you @amitabhbachchan sir for your dedication.”

The actor talked about being heavily invested in the show, noting that it was an important part of his life.

This season's Grand Finale featured Sara Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Sheela Devi, and Sharmila Tagore.
