'Animal' famed Tripti Dimri to play lead role in 'Aashiqui 3': report

Tripti Dimri has been reportedly roped in for a lead role in the upcoming third installment of popular musical romantic film Aashiqui alongside Kartik Aaryan.

As per Pinkvilla, an insider revealed, "Tripti has been the talk of the town following the historic success of Animal and the makers feel that she would set the screen on fire with Kartik."

The source further shared, "The conversations have been on for quite some time and the makers have now locked her as the female lead."

Tripti left the internet into a frenzy with her special appearance in this year's blockbuster movie Animal, featuring Ranbir Kapoor as an alpha male character.

Reportedly, the 29-year-old actress is all set to romance Kartik in the much anticipated movie.

Speaking of Kartik's appearance in the film, a tipster shared, "It’s a new space for him too and he will be looking to explore the intense side of romance."

The actor, who was last seen in the romantic film Satyaprem Ki Katha, is reportedly very excited to embark on this new journey.

"He has been a graduate of rom-coms and will now be switching zones to another world of love stories," the source concluded.

Directed by Anuarag Basu, Aashiqui 3 is slated to release in cinemas in 2024.
