Karan Johar revealed that he will be working on an exciting project with Salman Khan in a heartfelt birthday tribute for the Bollywood megastar.
The Ek Tha Tiger actor is celebrating his 58th birthday today on December 27.
In the wake of Khan's special day, Johar penned a touching note for him on Instagram.
At first, the filmmaker recalled approaching Khan for a special appearance in his directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Alongside Khan's photo from the 1998 romantic film, Johar wrote, "25 years ago I was at a party lost and confused…. A massive movie star came up to me and asked me why I was standing by a corner…"
He continued, "I told him I had been to several actors for a part but was politely rejected … the superstars sister is close to me so he graciously said she had spoken highly of my script and that I should meet him the next day to narrate the film to him…."
Johar shared that he was quite nervous while narrating the script to the actor. He added, "I went with a prayer in my heart and a deep desire for a miracle..."
While sharing Khan's sweet response, he wrote, "He said 'I love your father and my sister will kill me if I don’t do this movie' and that’s how Salman Khan was in KKHH."
The director showered praise on Khan for his generous gesture, saying, "so much love and respect for you always."
At the end of his long note, Johar hinted at an upcoming film with Khan, which left his fans excited as they wished to see the duo's magic on-screen again.
Johar concluded, "Also 25 years later we will finally have a story to tell again… not saying any more than that, happy happy birthday."
