Michelle Obama shares throwback family Christmas pics making internet nostalgic
Obama family can be seen joyfully smiling for the portrait
This year, the Obama family looked back at previous years' family holiday portraits as they celebrated Christmas with the people of the United States.
Just a few months into Barack Obama's second term as president, in 2013, Michelle Obama, the 59-year-old former first lady of the United States, posted a flashback picture of the family vacation to Washington for Christmas.
At the ages of twelve and fifteen, respectively, Sasha and Malia, their two daughters (now twenty-two and twenty-five) and a few toddlers dressed as charming elves were pictured with them.
The family joyfully smiled for the portrait, alongside which Michelle wrote: "From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!" and fans instantly inundated the comments section with heart emojis galore."
"Our forever first family," one commented, with another also saying: "Merry Christmas to you and your family," and a third gushing: "Happy Holidays! Love y'all!"
Throughout the now 62-year-old's two stints as president, the former First Family attended Christmas celebrations in Washington, posed for pictures, and gave speeches to the public.
The Obamas usually spend their Christmas vacation on the beach in Hawaii, so the yearly ceremony happened a few days before the actual holiday.
