David Beckham, the British former football star, was spotted alongside Sachin Tendulkar, a cricket veteran and fellow UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador during the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final between India and New Zealand in Mumbai.
Ahead of India's semi-final matchup with New Zealand, worldwide football superstar David Beckham met up with ICC worldwide Ambassador and one of the greatest cricketers of all time, Sachin Tendulkar, in Mumbai, reported ICC.
One of the most well-known figures in international sports, Beckham has played for some of the top teams in the world, including Manchester United and Real Madrid, as well as for England.
Beckham is visiting India as an ambassador for UNICEF's goodwill campaign.
Tendulkar strolled around the stadium, taking in the atmosphere and the enthusiastic welcome from the supporters. Cheers and ovation from a nearly packed Wankhede stadium celebrated these icons.
Before the crucial semi-final, Beckham was spotted chatting and sharing his experiences with the players on both teams.
Prior to the match, the pair also took a picture with the Cricket World Cup trophy.
There are just four teams left in the running for the World Cup.
Australia and South Africa will compete in the semi-final today in Kolkata, while India and New Zealand play in the final tomorrow.
On Sunday, November 19, the victors of these individual competitions square off in Ahmedabad.
Beckham also played football with Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
Beckham was present during the India vs New Zealand ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 semi-final in Mumbai.
When Kohli tossed the ball to him, the former midfielder for Manchester United and Real Madrid shared a tale on his Instagram account that showed them strolling around the stadium together.
In preparation for their semi-final, the Indian squad practised passing the ball around again between Beckham and Kohli.
