The US Geological Survey reported that at around 4:30am on Wednesday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 occurred close to Mentone, Texas.
According to the USGS, the earthquake's epicentre was located 22 miles west-southwest of Mentone and had a depth of approximately 4.9 miles.
The National Weather Service in El Paso reported that the earthquake was felt as far away as Santa Teresa, New Mexico, which is around 200 miles west of the epicentre.
No injuries have been reported as of yet. For further details, CNN has been in touch with the Loving County Sheriff's Office.
Mentone is located around 75 miles west of Odessa in a rural environment.
