Rani Mukerji reveals suffering 'miscarriage' before shooting 'Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway'
Rani lost her second baby in the first five months of her pregnancy.
Rani Mukerji revealed that she suffered a miscarriage right before she started filming Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway.
Rani recently attended the Indian Film Festival in Melbourne, where she recalled the tragedy she went through during the pandemic in 2020. She did not speak about the tragedy while promoting her emotional film, Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway, as she thought it would propel the movie.
"Maybe this is the first time I am making this revelation because in today’s world, every aspect of your life is discussed publicly, and becomes an agenda for talking about your film to get more eyeballs.
Obviously, I didn’t speak about this when I was promoting the film because it would have come across as me trying to speak about a personal experience that would propel the film… so, it was around the year when Covid-19 struck", said Rani.
The Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna actress revealed that she lost her child in the first five months of her pregnancy.
"It was 2020. I got pregnant with my second baby at the end of 2020 and I unfortunately lost my baby five months into my pregnancy."
Aditya Chopra's wife also shared that director Nikhil Advani called her 10 days after her miscarriage to discuss Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. She instantly felt connected to the script keeping in mind the tragedy she went through herself, reports Pinkvilla.
Rani Mukerji married Aditya Chopra in 2014. The duo welcomed a baby girl, Adira in 2015.
