Tory Lanez has insisted on his innocence after the musician was sentenced to a decade in jail for shooting his then-girlfriend Megan Thee Stallion on her foot.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, the musician stated that he bore the responsibility for all the moments he shared with the singer but did not accept the shooting allegations.
In his statement, he insisted that he would not let "jail time eliminate me".
"I have never let a hard time intimidate me, I will never let no jail time eliminate me. Regardless of how they spin my words, I have always maintained my innocence and I always will," he began.
"This week in court I took responsibility for all verbal and intimate moments that I shared with the parties involved …. That’s it.
He insisted that his post was in "in no way shape or form was I apologizing for the charges I’m being wrongfully convicted of."
"I remain on the stance that I refuse to apologize for something I did not do," he noted.
"I’ve faced adversity my whole life and every time it looked like I would lose, I came on top, This is nothing but another moment where my back is against the wall and I refuse to stop fighting till I come out victorious."
In his ending statement he insisted that he would return saying that "tough times don’t last, tough people do" as he thanked his fans, friends, and family for supporting him.
"See you soon," he concluded.
Tory Lanez's admission comes days after he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
The Canadian rapper was found guilty of three charges in December 2022 which as per Page Six were "assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and discharging a firearm with gross negligence".
Lanez was initially facing 22 years in prison but his sentence was reduced to 10 years.
The shooting incident took place when Megan, her former pal Kelsey Harris, Lanez and his guard were exiting Kylie Jenner’s mansion party in Hollywood Hills, California.
Megan and Lanez engaged in a heated argument on the way home which resulted in her being forced out of the car which was allegedly followed by Lanez firing his gun on the ground at the singer while screaming, "Dance, b**ch!".
