Gigi Hadid, the 28-year-old model, was seen in public for the first time following a recent incident involving her arrest.
The photographs captured her at John F. Kennedy International Airport as she was preparing to board a flight out of New York. During her outing, Hadid wore a beige crop top along with distressed denim jeans and carried a blue-and-white plaid bag. To complement her outfit, she sported a matching nude jacket, a colorful necklace, and red Converse high-top sneakers.
The previous incident that led to her arrest took place when she arrived in the Cayman Islands. According to court documents obtained from PEOPLE, Customs & Border Control agents found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in her luggage during a routine inspection. As a result, she was fined $1,000 for the incident. This airport search occurred on her arrival at the Owen Roberts International Airport on July 10, following a private jet journey from the U.S.
Cayman Marl Road, a local media outlet, reported that the quantities of drugs found were relatively small and seemingly for personal consumption. Leah Nicole McCarthy, another member of Hadid's group, was also found to have similar materials in her bags, resulting in the same charges. Hadid and McCarthy were both arrested and taken to the Prisoner Detention Center for "suspicion Importation of Ganja and Importation of Utensils used for the consumption of ganja."
After being released on bail, both Hadid and McCarthy appeared in the Summary Court on July 12, where they pleaded guilty. Each of them received a $1,000 fine, and no conviction was recorded. The court proceedings took place in George Town, Cayman Islands, although the specific charges were not specified by the authorities as confirmed by PEOPLE.
