In a shocking development, a third accuser has come forward with allegations against a prominent BBC presenter.

The accuser claims that the presenter broke COVID-19 lockdown rules to meet with them and engaged in inappropriate behaviour. According to The Sun newspaper, the accuser, a 23-year-old individual, alleges that the presenter defied lockdown restrictions and visited their flat in February 2021, where they engaged in a conversation.

The accuser expressed their shock at the presenter's disregard for the rules, saying, "I was quite shocked that he broke the rules to come and meet me because of who he is. I was just a random person online."

The allegations come in the wake of earlier claims made by a teenager, who alleges that the presenter paid them £35,000 for explicit photographs.

Additionally, a second accuser has recently come forward with accusations of receiving abusive and threatening messages from the presenter. The second accuser, in their early 20s, disclosed that they were initially contacted by the presenter on a dating app, and after refusing to meet, they received a series of abusive messages.

The new allegations add further pressure on the BBC, which has already suspended the presenter in light of the initial accusations. The broadcaster has faced criticism for its handling of the situation, including delays in addressing the allegations. The Metropolitan Police have been involved in assessing whether any criminal offenses have been committed.

It is crucial to thoroughly investigate these claims and provide support to the accusers during this challenging time. The emergence of multiple accusers and their detailed allegations raises concerns about the presenter's conduct and highlights the need for accountability within the industry.

The BBC Director General, Tim Davie, has acknowledged the damaging impact of the scandal on the corporation's reputation and emphasised the importance of speaking with the presenter directly.

Davie said, "I think it is critical they are spoken to by a very senior manager." The police continue to investigate the allegations, and further inquiries are being conducted to determine if any criminal offenses have taken place.

As the investigations proceed, it is vital to prioritise the well-being of the accusers and ensure a fair and thorough examination of the allegations. The outcome of these investigations will shape the future of the presenter's career and potentially impact the broader culture within the broadcasting industry.
