Barbie director Greta Gerwig has recently addressed “computer-generated imagery Barbie feet” speculations .

After the trailer’s release of much-anticipated movie, the clip of Margot Robbie’s character Barbie standing her tiptoes with arched heels has gone viral on internet.

While discussing about the Barbie feet clip on Australian talk show The Project, Gerwig disclosed that there “was a big discussion in the beginning” as to whether she was going to “CGI all the feet”.

“I thought, ‘Oh god, no! That’s terrifying! That’s a nightmare,’” remarked the Ladybird director.

Elsewhere on the show, Gerwig revealed that Barbie character feels “very personal” to her.

“Even though this is a huge movie, it feels very personal to me,” admitted the director.

Gerwig mentioned, “It was made by so many people who cared about it. Even the Barbie logo we used is the logo that I had as a child of the '80s.”

Last week, Robbie also shared the secret behind the viral feet scene, stating, “They are my feet and it probably took about eight takes to accomplish this pose.”

The actress pointed out, “I walked up, we had little sticky bits on the floor – double-sided tape – for the shoes, so they wouldn’t come off. So that I could get my feet out of them. And I was holding on to a bar, but that’s it.”

“I wasn’t in like a harness or anything. I just walked up and kind of held onto the bar above camera,” she concluded.
