Robert De Niro has shared a heartfelt statement after the tragic death of his teenage grandson Leandro, saying he's "deeply distressed".
The 79-year-old actor has shared a touching message following the tragic death of his grandson.
Robert, in a statement to People on Monday, said: "I'm deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo."
"We're greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given privacy to grieve our loss of Leo," he added of the teen.
Drena De Niro confirmed her son's death on Instagram Sunday night, beginning an emotional post alongside a photo of Leandro, 19, "My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly."
Drena is the oldest of Robert's seven children. Her mother is his first wife, actress Diahnne Abbott.
