ISLAMABAD: A two-member committee formed by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday confirmed that Shahbaz Taseer’s release from captivity was not result of any operation as claimed by Balochistan government and other senior officials, sources said.
The committee is said to have submitted its report to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. The report said evidence suggested Taseer was set free by his captors, rejecting the claims that he was recovered from the over four year captivity in an operation by lawn enforcement agencies.
The report, however, stated that it would be premature to say if he was released by kidnappers after receiving ransom.
