MELBOURNE: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam Saturday said that the team will stick to its playing strategy for the final clash against England in the T20 World Cup 2022.
Speaking during a press conference in Melbourne, Babar said that the final match is being compared to the 1992 World Cup. "The players are not nervous. There is pressure but we are trying not to take it," he added.
The skipper said that all the players are excited for the final. He added that England has a great team, however, Pakistan have played a home series with them and the team will give its 100% in the final.
"We did not have a good start but we made a good comeback as all the players played like lions," said the star player.
Regarding the final clash against England, Babar said that the first six overs are extremely important. "We believe in Allah. Our job is to work hard and the result is in the hands of God," he added.
Answering a question about the meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja, the star player said that the meeting with the chair was pleasant. Babar said that Ramiz told the team to play openly and stick to the game.
The skipper also said that the toss does not hold much importance in the final match. "The weather is not in our hands but we hope that we get to play a full match and it doesn't get affected by the rain," he continued to say.
