ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Peopleís Party has announced the names of its nominees for the reserved seats for women from the Punjab for the National Assembly and provincial assembly.
The nominations were approved in a meeting presided over by party Chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
For the reserved seats of women for the National Assembly, the PPP has nominated Naheed Khan, Rukhsana Bangash, Shehnaz Wazir Ali, Palwasha Khan, Mrs Beelum Hasnain, Mehreen Anwer Raja, Farzana Raja, Justice (retd) Fakhrun Nisa, Fauzia Habib, Yasmin Rehman, Shakila Rasheed, Samina Mushtaq Pagganwala, Begum Nasim Chaudhry, Nargis Faiz Malik, Azra Khalid and Mrs Nighat.
Besides finalising the nomination of reserved seats for women, the Pakistan People's Party also finalised the names of its nominees for reserved seats of minorities for the National Assembly and the provincial assemblies of the Punjab, Sindh, the Frontier and Balochistan.
The nominees have been advised to file their nomination papers with the Election Commission immediately under the title "Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians
(PPPP)."
For the reserved seats for the minorities in the National Assembly, Shahbaz Bhatti, Ramesh Lal, Dr Lal Chand S/o Kundan Mal, Dr Mahesh Malani and Dr Khatumal Jeewan have been nominated.
For the provincial assembly of the Punjab, the PPP has nominated Parvez Rafique, Tahir Naveed, Ms Aneeqa Maria Akhtar, Naveed Amir, Khalid Gill, Kalyan Singh, George Paul, Shamoon Alfred and Akmal Bhatti.
For Sindh Assembly, the PPP has nominated Dr Mohan Lal, Pitambar Sehwani, Lal Chand s/o Gangaram, Mukesh Kumar, Lal Chand alias Mali, Salim Khokhar, Lal Chand Jagwani, Lal Chand Ukhrani, Ashok Jethmalani.
For the provincial assembly of the NWFP, the PPP has nominated Prince Javed, Sardar Vijay Singh and Dia Ram s/o Harman Das. For the provincial assembly of Balochistan, the PPP has nominated Jaffer George.
