Salman Bashir new foreign secretary

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s ambassador to China Salman Bashir has been appointed new foreign secretary on Friday. Foreign Office Spokesman Muhammad Sadiq, confirming the appointment of the new foreign secretary, Salman Bashir, said the present secretary, Riaz Muhammad Khan, has requested to relieve him due to personal reasons and health. The government has accepted his request and today relieved him and appointed new foreign secretary, he added. Salman Bashir joined the foreign office in 1976 and also served as ambassador in different countries and Assistant Director Asia Pacific Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
