Anwar Ali takes over as PAEC chief

ISLAMABAD: Anwar Ali took over as Chairman of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission in a simple ceremony held at PAEC headquarters. The outgoing chairman Parvez Butt has been elevated as the Science and Technology secretary. The incoming chairman paid rich tributes to Parvez Butt for realising the objectives of the PAEC programmes and expressed his resolve to adhere to the splendid work ethics of his predecessors. In his remarks, Butt exhorted the management of the PAEC to uphold the traditions of the organisation and work selflessly for the development of the country. He expressed his full confidence in the capabilities of his successor to steer the organisation towards its successful functioning. Anwar Ali was a member of team of scientists and engineers, which carried out the prestigious nuclear test at Chaghi in May 1988.
