Karachi Social worker Muhammad Ramzan Chhipa has been conferred an honorary degree of Doctor of Letters. Chhipa is the founder of Chhipa Welfare Association. The NGO has several emergency centres set up across the city, which distribute free ration, medicines, clothes and blankets among the poor. Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, who is also the Karachi University chancellor, awarded the degree to Chhipa at an impressive ceremony held in Governor House on Friday. Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and Karachi University Vice-Chancellor Dr Muhammad Qaiser were also present at the event.
