KARACHI: The Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) has geared up action against project owners and builders concerned in violation of building laws and regulations.
The action has been spurred on the directives of the chief controller KBCA on persistent inflow of complaints from the allottees of these projects.
Taking action, the KBCA sealed the Saddar and Site booking offices of Gulshan-e-Qudoos in Deh Thano, Malir and the concerned builders Al-Azim (Pvt) Ltd.
Earlier, all the offices in project Muslim City, in Scheme-45 Surjani Town, had been sealed on similar grounds.
The NOC issued by KBCA in the name of Managing Director of these projects, Haji Adam Jokhio, for advertisement and sale as well as builders licence have also already been cancelled.
The KBCA will go into court for legal action against these projects, it is learnt.
Meanwhile, the KBCA staff sealed the illegal booking office of Iqra City project in Shceme-33 while action was initiated against Masons Heights on Plot No SB 26/2, Block-K Nazimabad and Babuji Javedan Housing on Plot No SC-06, Block-C declaring advertisement and sale of units in these projects illegal.
The KBCA has asked the people not to enter into any deal in these projects or else for any loss, they will themselves be responsible.
A KBCA demolition team removed the shuttering and dismantled the partition walls and columns at illegal third storey construction on Plot No SA-63/7, KAECHS, Jamshed Town.
In Moosa Lane area of Lyari Town, the KBCA staff demolished the roof of third storey constructed at open space on Plot No LY-11 and pulled down the shuttering of second floor on Plot No LY-7/18.
In Liaquatabad Town, the KBCA men sealed the courtyard on ground floor while taking action against its commercial use on Plot No 4-E 6/10.
