Sub campus of Bannu University inaugurated in Lakki Marwat

LAKKI MARWAT: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly (MNA) Col (r) Dr Amirullah Marwat inaugurated the sub campus of the Bannu University of Science and Technology at the Government Postgraduate College in Lakki city on Tuesday.
The campus has been temporarily established in the postgraduate block of the college. It will become operational with immediate effect by offering research based higher education in two disciplines including education and research and political science.
Among others Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F (JUI-F) MPA Munawar Khan Marwat, BUST Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Rahim Marwat, Deputy Registrar Inamullah Marwat, director works Muhammad Rehan, Government Postgraduate College Lakki Marwat Principal Dr Muhammad Nafees, Prof (r) Haji Zarwali Khan and deans of IER and political science departments were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Amirullah said that the campus would pave the way for setting up a full-fledged varsity in the underdeveloped district. He said that district was lagging behind in education and that the establishment of university campus would help promote higher education in the area.
He said that promotion of education and research would open ways for development, adding that he would make sincere efforts to launch work on the cadet college project so that the students could get quality education near their homes.
The PTI lawmaker also promised to get funds approved for the rehabilitation and development of Sheikh Badin mountainous tourist resort in Darra Pezu. He asked the students to concentrate on their education and take enthusiastic part in social welfare activities.
MPA Munawar Khan said that with the establishment of campus the local youths would get rid of traveling to other cities for getting research based higher education. Vice chancellor Dr Abdul Rahim also spoke on the occasion.
