Destruction of livelihoods of common man criminal: PTI

April 17, 2014
LAHORE
PRESIDENT PTI Punjab Ejaz Chaudhry has said that destruction of livelihoods of common men was a criminal act as the PML-N government is continuously destroying the sources of income of 6000 at Ferozepur Road where the flyover for metro bus has been constructed.
In a statement, the PTI Punjab leader said that as usual the government had not only destroyed their constructed shops but also reluctant to give them any compensation for it. He said this was the mentality of land mafia of PML-N which had generously given extension to the Jangla bus routes to ensure production and sale of the Ittefaq Group of companies. He said the PTI severely criticised this injustice and demanded that the government not only should provide compensation for shopkeepers but also provide alternative to open up these shops. Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Secretary General PTI in the statement, said the metro bus was a showpiece of the CM as he was better known as Showbaz Shahbaz Sharif due to his fake youth festival and false promises of providing relief from loadshedding within six months. She said the Chief Minister had openly admitted that he was wrong about loadshedding and after a few years he would also admit he was wrong about metro bus but by that time thousands of people would have lost their livelihoods and billions of rupees of taxpayers’ money would have gone waste.
PTI Secretary Information Punjab Andleeb Abbas said the metro bus was a huge burden on tax payers’ money as it was receiving a subsidy of 1 billion rupees per month. She said every project that the CM undertook so far like the garment city and the demolition of the lady Wellingdon hospital had all been done to take over precious land and make money over it. She also said the PTI had contested earlier takeover in the court and would again fight with these shopkeepers by demanding that the government should immediately withdraw their plan to destroy livelihoods of these people or provide them with alternative living.
