Karachi
Five shops were gutted and three others partially damaged after a fire broke out on the first floor of the Rainbow Centre in Saddar on Friday.
Fire tenders responded efficiently and managed to put out the blaze before it could cause further damage in the shopping centre, known as the country’s largest market for CDs and DVDs.
The fire was caused by an electrical short-circuit and the damage incurred by owners of the five shops gutted and three damaged shops were estimated to be in the millions.
