Karachi
The Karachi University Teachers Society (KUTS) on Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of a medical professor the other day.
Professor Javed Kazi, Dean Faculty of Medicine, Karachi Medical and Dental Centre, was shot dead by unknown assailants while he was going in his vehicle.
“It is an unfortunate fact that innocent professors and teachers are being attacked with impunity, while the law enforcement agencies personnel were not laying hands on the culprits. If the previous such attacks were thoroughly investigated and the culprits brought to task, Pakistan would not have lost an able doctor like Javed Kazi,” said a press release issued by the KUTS.
“If the intelligentsia of our society are killed like this, Pakistan will be left with only a bunch of illiterate men,” it said.
The Karachi University has arranged a memorial for the slain professor at its Arts Auditorium at 11:00am on Friday.
