KARACHI: The federal government has appointed prominent industrialist Dr Miftah Ismail as the chairman of the Board of Investment (BoI), a statement said. Considering his impressive performance as the vice chairman of the Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT), Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has given approval to his appointment to head BoI, it said. A professional economist, he worked at the International Monetary Fund before returning to Pakistan. He is a member of the board of directors of PIA and SSGC. Ismail is also the director of Ismail Industries, Pakistan’s largest confectionary group, comprising Candyland, Bisconni, Snackcity and Delmare Foods.
