Workshop on ‘Reporting’

The three-day workshop on ‘Parliamentary Reporting Role of Parliamentary Reporters and Rules of Procedure’ organised by the Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIPS) concluded here.
The workshop, which was held in collaboration with the Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA), covered various aspects relating to legislative and non-legislative business of the National Assembly and the Senate and importance and role and standing committees and parliamentary committees.
Ex-Secretary National Assembly PIPS Executive Director Khan Ahmad Goraya distributed certificates among participants representing different organisations of print and electronic media.
Those who delivered lectures included senior journalists Raja Muhammad Asghar Syed Zameer Nafees, Director General Library and Reference National Assembly Tahir Hanfi, Joint Secretary (Committees) National Assembly Afzaal Ahmad, Deputy Secretary (Legislation) National Assembly Muhammad Mushtaq and PIPS Director Research Muhammad Rashid Mafzool Zaka.
Speaking at the concluding session, PIPS Executive Director Khan Ahmad Goraya was hopeful that such workshops would be helpful in updating parliamentary reporters of new and old rules concerning conduct of business of the National Assembly and Senate besides enhancing their professional capabilities.
PRA President Siddique Sajid thanked PIPS for organising the workshop for journalists covering proceeding of two houses of the parliament.
