Major reshuffle in Sindh bureaucracy

In a major step of bureaucratic overhaul, the Sindh government shuffled up the positions of a large number of senior administrative officials on Thursday up to the rank of additional chief secretary and some secretaries of provincial departments.
According to the notification issued by Sindh Chief Secretary Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah who was awaiting posting, has been posted as the additional chief secretary home department with immediate effect and until further orders.
Shah replaces Muhammad Waseem, a BS-21 officer of ex-PCS, has been transferred and directed to report to the Sindh Services, General Administration and Coordination Department for further orders.
Arif Elahi, the secretary of Sindh Tourism Department, has been posted as the secretary of industries and commerce department, relieving Zahid Hussain Memon of the additional charge.
Zafar Iqbal, a BS-20 officer in Pakistan Administrative Service, working as the special secretary of Prisons at Sindh Home Department has been posted as the secretary of the livestock and fisheries department, relieving Muhammad Ramzan Awan of his additional charge.
Iqbal Hussain Durrani, a BS-20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, has been posted as the secretary of Sindh Agriculture, Supply and Prices Department, relieving Muhammad Naseer Jamali of the additional charge. Durrani, who is the son-in-law of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali, would take charge of the secretary’s post after completion of the National Management Course.
Agha Wasif Abbas, the grade 20 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, working as the special secretary of Sindh Finance Department has been posted as the secretary of energy department, replacing Muhammad Farooq Leghari, who has been directed to report to the services, general administration and coordination department.
Tuaha Ahmed Farooqui has been transferred from special secretary of public health at Sindh Health Department and posted as the secretary transport and mass transit department in place of Nazar Muhammad Kalhoro, who has been directed to report to the services, general administration and coordination department.
Fazl-ur-Rehman, who was working as the secretary of Sindh Forest and Wildlife Department, has been posted as the managing-director of Sindh Public Procurement Regulatory Authority in place of Shakeel Ahmed Mangnejo, who has been posted as the secretary of social welfare department.
Mudassir Iqbal has been transferred from special secretary of the home department and posted as the secretary of the services, general administration and coordination department, relieving Dr Riaz Ahmed Memon.
Aftab Ahmed Memon, who was awaiting posting, has been posted with immediate as the secretary of sports and youth affairs department.
Wasim Ahmed Ursani, who was the secretary of the excise and taxation department, has been posted as the secretary of the labour and human resources department of Sindh government, relieving Ejaz Ahmed Memon of his additional charge.
