CHITRAL: The All Pakistan Muslim League (AMPL) retained the lone national and one provincial assembly seats in the district.Though the party had boycotted the polls throughout the country, its Chitral chapter opted to take party in the poll and won as expected. The APML candidate for NA-32 Shahzda Iftikharuddin secured 19,938 votes against Abdul Latif of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The PTI candidate secured 16636 votes. Former MPA Ghulam Muhammd also managed to retain the PK-90 after close fight with Pakistan People’s Party’s Sardar Hussain. However, the APML lost the PK-89 to PPP after a close contest. Former minister Saleem Khan won the seat by grabbing 11285-votes. The AMPL candidates Shahzada Pervez secured 10,104 votes.
