Delay in tickets No election campaign in NA-160 From Our Correspondent SAHIWAL: NA-160, a key constituency in the district, is still waiting for candidates due to a delay in awarding the tickets. The constituency mainly comprises the city areas. In the 2008 elections, Imran Ahmed Shah of the PML-N had won the seat by securing 59,373 votes, while his rival Nauraiz Shakoor Khan of the PML-Q got 31,119 votes. PPP’s Anwarul Haq obtained 27,638 votes. As many as 127,867 votes were cast against total 248,573, showing a turnout of 51.1. Zaqi Ch is claiming himself to be the PPP ticket-holder, while Ch Nauraiz Shakoor Khan of the PML-Q and Rao Zaid Bin Ismael will be other candidates. However, the main contest will be between PML-N’s Imran Ahmed Shah and the PTI’s candidate. PPP’s Zaki Ch had lost the election to the Punjab Assembly seat. Owing to a delay in awarding the tickets, the candidates have not launched their campaign and the candidates are double minded.
