Blow to PML-N as Kolo Tarar family supports Bhatti From Syed Muhammad Zameer HAFIZABAD: The PML-N received a setback when the renowned Kolo Tarar family announced to quit the PML-N and decided to support the candidates of Mehdi Bhatti Group in the district. The family members of the first Muslim member from Punjab in the Viceroy Council late Khan Bahadur Ataullah Khan Tarar and former MNA/MPA late Mian Saifullah Khan Tarar, relatives of former federal parliamentary secretary Ch Afzal Hussain Tarar and his daughter former MNA Saira Afzal Tarar, invited Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, archrival of Afzal Hussain Tarar, to their village and announced their unconditional support to his groups’ candidates in all the five NA and PA constituencies. Speaking on the occasion, Ch Mamoon Jaffar Tarar, Farooq Jaffar Tarar, Haroon Jaffar Tarar, grandsons of Mian Saifullah Tarar, and Muhammad Nauman Tarar, grandson of Khan Bahadur Ataullah Khan Tarar, said that their family and supporters had been supporting Afzal Tarar and his nominees in every elections since the death of Mian Saifullah Tarar, but he had badly disappointed them. They said that they had unconditionally supported the Bhatti Group due to its pro-people policies. Ch Mehdi Hassan Bhatti, former federal minister Ch Liaquat Abbas Bhatti, candidate for NA-103, former provincial minister Shaukat Ali Bhatti, candidate for NA-102, and former MPA Dr Muzaffar Ali Sheikh, candidate for PP-105, have thanked the Tarar family for their unconditional support and assured that they would continue to serve the people. Over 200 former councillors and a large number of villagers were also present. Earlier, Punjab People’s Youth Council vice-president Arbab Akram Awan, MSF-N divisional president Malik Babar Awan, former MC Councillor Malik Ajmal Awan, Malik Sadaqat Hayat and Malik Muhammad Anwar Awan of Garhi Awan, relatives PPP former MPA Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan who recently joined the PML-N, announced their
support for the candidates of Ch Mehdi Bhatti Group in the district. Meanwhile, a tug-of-war is going on between the old PML-N worker Rana Saleem Shakir and new entrant Malik Fayyaz Ahmad Awan to get the party ticket for PP-105.
