Karachi Two absconders wanted by the police in criminal cases were killed in a morning encounter reported in Gulshan-i-Maymar police limits. Police had recovered arms and stolen property from their possession. SP Rao Anwar Ahmed of Gadap Town said that on Monday morning SHO Gulshan-i-Maymar along with his team was patrolling the area when they saw three armed bandits attempting to snatch a Hi-roof (CB-2415) near the Dream World resort. On seeing the police the bandits opened fire which was retaliated. During an encounter the police arrested two suspects who had been injured. The third suspect managed to escape under the cover of fire. Police shifted the injured suspects to the hospital. They recovered two unlicenced TT pistols and two motorcycles from the spot. The complainant was identified as Mohammed Afzal who told the police that he was going for some work when the three suspects intercepted his vehicle and asked for the keys. In the meantime the police had reached there and an encounter took place. SP Anwar said that on way to the hospital both the suspects succumbed to their injuries. They were identified as Arif Hussain and Mohammed Ali. When the recovered motorcycles were verified from the police record it was found to be the stolen property of the Super Market police station. Hussain was earlier arrested by the police in 1999 from the Buffer Zone area in a robbery case and was imprisoned for four years. In a separate case, Mohammed Yar was shot dead in the Defence police limits. Yar was a security guard. Two bandits came over to snatch a motorcycle from a passerby. When they saw the security guard they opened fire and fled.
