Rear Admiral Tanveer Faiz SI(M), Rear Admiral Abbas Raza SI(M) and Rear Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar SI(M) have been promoted to the rank of vice admiral with immediate effect, says a press release issued here on Saturday.
Vice Admiral Tanveer Faiz SI(M) was commissioned in Pakistan Navy in June 1975 in the Operations branch. As a junior officer he served onboard various ships. Later, he joined the Submarine Service.
He has held various command and staff appointments including command of two submarines, a guided missile Destroyer, Commander Submarine Squadron. His staff appointments include director of Naval Intelligence and deputy chief of the naval staff (Operations) at Naval Headquarters. He has also served as Naval Attache at Beijing, and was awarded Pakistan-China friendship medal.
He is a graduate of Pakistan Navy War College and National Defence College, Islamabad. The admiral is presently serving as commander of Pakistan Fleet.
In recognition to his services the Admiral was awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).
Vice Admiral Abbas Raza SI(M) joined Pakistan Navy in June 1973. He got commission in the Operations Branch in 1975 and won the coveted Sword of Honour. He did his Staff Course from Royal Navy Staff College, Greenwich, UK. He is a graduate of National Defence College as well. He has held various command and staff appointments, including commander of two Guided Missile Destroyer PNS Badr, Tippu Sultan and commander Missile Boat Squadron and staff duties at Joint Services Headquarters. He has also held appointment of Air and Naval Attache in Paris. At Naval Headquarters, he was assigned the duties of principal secretary to chief of the naval staff. The admiral is presently serving as deputy chief of naval staff (Operations).

Vice Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar SI(M) was commissioned in the Operations Branch of
Pakistan Navy on 1 Jun 1976. He did his staff course from Command & Staff College, Dhaka and earned his masters degree from National Defence University, Islamabad. His naval career includes commands of two submarines and a Submarine Squadron. He has served as director of Submarine Operations, assistant chief of naval staff (Submarine Acquisition), assistant chief of naval staff (Operations) and director general of Maritime Security Agency. He also held the appointments of commandant of the National Security College and Flag Officer Sea Training. The admiral is presently serving as commander of the Coastal Command.
