‘Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin’ launched

Going deep into social, individual and regional background of a suicide bomber, a new drama serial soon to be aired on national television network is expected to clarify once and for all, certain confusions about Taliban that still persist in the minds of the general public.

Based on true stories from affected areas, the drama serial ‘Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin’ was launched here on Friday. In addition to government officials, politicians and representatives of armed forces, people from all sections of the society including civil society representatives, academicians and artists attended the event. Federal Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira was the chief guest on the occasion.

Written by eminent drama writer Asghar Nadeem Syed and directed by Kashif Nisar, the main cast includes Naumaan Ijaz, Aisha Khan, Ayub Khosa, Syed Jibran, Sara Chaudhry, Erum Akhtar, Rasheed Naz, Azeem Sajjad and Najiba Faiz.

The basic idea behind the 16-episode drama serial is to create mass awareness about the issue of terrorism. It intends to re-position the menace of terrorism from a religious matter to a political, social and economic concern. Through this drama serial, general public would be educated about the actual issues breading the menace of terrorism.

The serial will also try to highlight how these issues like frustration, feeling of being left out by the government and a sense of revolt against the system are being exploited by different stakeholders while also drawing a clear linkage of this social, economic and political disappointment and depression with terrorism and extremism.
