ANP women wing gives cash to IDPs

PESHAWAR: The women wing of Awami National Party (ANP) Wednesday distributed cash to internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Malakand division residing in Peshawar and Charsadda districts.

A press release issued here from Bacha Khan Markaz, party’s central secretariat, said Provincial Vice-President and a member of NWFP Assembly Shagufta Malik along with other MPAs, including Tabassum Younas, Yasmeen Zia, Munawar Farman, Yasmeen Pir Mohammad Khan, Zubaida Ihsan distributed the cash amount to the IDPs of Swat, Buner and Dir.

Speaking on the occasion, Shagufta Malik said the ANP would stand by them in the hour of trial. She said the return of the IDPs to their homes was result of good policies of the party.

Shagufta said the ANP-led provincial government had chalked out a comprehensive plan for reconstruction of entire Malakand division, adding that Swat would be once again made an attractive place for tourists. The women wing leader appealed to federal government, international community and relief organisations to come forward and play their role in the reconstruction of Malakand division.
