JACOBABAD: PPP candidate Mir Gul Muhammad Jakhrani got a big lead in the by-elections held in the NA-210 constituency on Monday, according to unofficial results. Jakhrani secured 60,210 votes†from 120 polling stations out of 218 polling stations while JUI-F candidate†Mir Asghar Khan Bijarani got 2,710 votes. The counting of votes was continuing in the rest of the polling stations till the filing of this report.
Bijarani had announced the withdrawal of his candidature in favour of Jakhrani after the due date, therefore, the elections were held as per the rules of the Election Commission. Meanwhile, Jakhrani, along with other PPP leaders and workers, took out a rally to celebrate his success. They chanted slogans and marched on various streets of the city.
