10 cops suspended for immoral acts

LAHORE THE Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Syed Azhar Hassan Nadeem has terminated the contractual appointment of seven deputy superintendents of police presently working on contract basis in Punjab police, with immediately effect. The names of terminated DSPs are Malik Muhammad Hussain, Khadim Hussain, Zulqarnain Ali, Wazir Muhammad Dogar, Ameer Ahmad Malik, Muhammad Zafar Mehmood and Khadim Hussain Niazi. Meanwhile the IGP has also suspended 10 police officers and officials of Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura Districts on the charge of misconduct and misuse of their official power in a case of immoral act against 12 year old boy of Nankana Sahib, with immediate effect. The names of suspended officers and officials are DSP Nankana Sahib Muhammad Ashiq Marth, Inspector Ahmad Yar Sial, Inspector Mansab Dar Goraya, Inspector Mian Manzoor Ahmad, Sub Inspector Ashraf Zahid, ASI Muhammad Rafique, Head Constable Sajjad Ahmed, Constable Zahid, Constable Sakhawat and Constable Tariq. It may be mentioned that this disciplinary action has been taken against the police officers/officials by IG Syed Azhar Hassan Nadeem on a news item published in a section of press alleging that the criminals involved in this immoral act against 12 years old boy of Nankana Sahib were being provided unlawful protection by these police officials. Taking serious notice of it, IG ordered the DIG I&V Zafar Iqbal Qureshi to probe into the matter and on proving the fault in the light of the enquiry report, IG suspended them.
